Summary
GTI's Residential/Commercial Appliance Laboratory is designed to foster the development and advancement of gas appliances in terms of efficiency, safety and performance.

Examples of commercialized products include the Pitco Fryer, Victory Refrigeration Stellar Sirius Countertop Boilerless Steamer, Avantec Cross Flow and Dual Conveyor Ovens, MagiKitch'n Charbroiler, NovelAire Cost-Reduced Desiccant,
and A. O. Smith Combo Water/Air Heater.

The Laboratory is equipped with testing platforms for:
  • Combustion system design and troubleshooting services
  • Appliance design and development
  • Commercial kitchen environment testing
  • Environmental chamber testing for appliances and components
  • Automated Data Acquisition
  • ANSI/ASTM functional and performance testing
  • Basic cooling research
  • Cooling system development and testing
  • Solid modeling for concept generation and design
  • System performance modeling for energy usage
  • Third-party validation testing

The Residential/Commercial Appliances Laboratory provides a variety of opportunities for the gas industry and appliance manufacturers to work with GTI to design, fabricate, and test new equipment.
